How radical it is to find a bank that actually exists to help people.  It's founder and CEO, Ross Hill, shares with us how business and God's work go hand in hand.  He sees a great need for revival in our land.  Revival has never occurred without the persistent prayer of God's people who have repented and began to call on God in prayer.  Inspired by Mark Batterson' 7:14 Lent prayer experiment in Washington D.C. and Mark's book “Circle Maker”, Ross has set out to invite millions to join him in prayer at 7:14 AM and PM, to pray through for healing of our land with the Circle 7:14 project.  Ross now travels the world taking other business leaders with him to see the needs of the third world and allow God to give them their own vision as change makers.  As a prayer partner you can chose from over 40 countries to begin praying for.  Remember it starts with you!

Quote to Ponder:

“And so Jesus also suffered outside the city gate to make the people holy through his own blood.  Let us, then, go outside the camp, bearing the disgrace he bore.  For we do not have an enduring city, but we are looking for the city that is to come”  The writer of Hebrews (chapter 13:12-14)

Summary:

I left for Jonesville, Va. with  eight other adults from my church in Massillon, Ohio on April 23rd.  We had planned and prepared for 6 months, yet that morning seemed to be the absolute worst time for me to be leaving home for a week.  I felt even worse when we hit a deer only 1 ½ hours out.  We spent 6 days working on housing reconstruction projects, trying to pick up where someone else left off.  I would find that the work we did was really just secondary to all that God wanted to show us outside the camp of our own Christian experience.  My most meaningful time was when I took the time to learn about the lady, whose house we were working on.  She taught me a lot in that week.  I felt that God was putting a mirror in front of me and showing me what I lacked: simplicity, contentment, a simple faith, might prayers, and close family ties.  I in turn gave her what she lacked : encouragement, confidence in the goodness of God, Bible readings, hymns, and a partner in prayer.  Grace flowed through our relationship.  Jesus loved her through me and me though her.  I returned having found what I went out  for, a sense of the realness of God.

Quote to Ponder:

Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them: for God hath shewed it unto them.  Romans 1:19

“ I have found that whether Buddhist or Muslim they are a lot more open to talk about the Gospel than here in the United States...there is a great spiritual need ...whether Communist, Tibetan, or Muslim...we are all sinful.  We all have a conscience.  It tells us we are sinners and guilty.  How do we deal with the sin problem?”  - Dennis Green

Our Guest: Dennis Green

Missionary to Virginia

  • Short term missions – a reality check
  • A different world – The One Child Policy

Summary:

How does a man from Virginia, father of 12, get hooked on short term missions trips to Northwestern China.  It is the familiar story of being invited by a friend and became totally sold out for this people group and this Seed Sowing ministry.  In late April, 2010 Dennis Green departed on his 10th short terms missions trip to spend 3 weeks showering a strategically mapped out territory totally unreached for the Gospel.  The peoples of this area are predominately Muslim and Buddhist and includes; Tibet and China bordering Pakistan.  Dennis, his daughter who is 16, and one other team member from Wisconsin will travel by plane then by train under a tourist visa carrying Gospel literature.  They deliver this literature by night, door to door until sun rise when they board a bus and as doors begin to open and every recipient picks up this “mail” and reads it. None are seen discarded.  By day they witness one-on-one on buses and trains.  As an outsider and an ambassador for Christ, Dennis' shares a reality foreign to these peoples.  They can hardly comprehend that he has 12 children in the context of the One Child policy of their country.  Imagine how they will respond when they comprehend that God loves them, that He has the answer to our sin problem, His son Jesus Christ!
